Plastic Pollution

Early this morning, I went our for a walk and I cannot believe what I saw - tons of plastic garbage being thrown out everywhere. Majority of the trashes that I saw was made of plastic and the most common ones were plastic water bottles, candy wrappers, bags, even slippers. Plastic products are everywhere and it seems like we cannot escape from them. People all over the world are using plastic keyboards, chairs. Even the laptop that I'm currently using is made of plastic, your cellphone case is also made of this.
I am not an expert of statistics, but the fact that 50 percent of the plastic we use once are just being thrown away, and where do these would go to? Our oceans and seas and this is absolutely alarming because those sea creatures are suffering from tons of garbage that would take forever to decompose.
It's really a sad reality but not everyone's doing something to stop it. Whenever I do my grocery shopping, I always bring a bag made from recycled materials so I do not have to ask for plastic bags and sometimes I ask for a box of carton, at least it's biodegradable. I am glad that there are people who are doing the "reduce, reuse, recycle" strategy - Japan is really good at it. It takes more patience and determination to do it especially if you haven't done it before but it's worth it.
In the end, who are we going to blame for the pollution in our planet?

Do you know where a local recycling place is? Or even a recycling dumpster bin? In our city there is a parking lot where you dump your plastics in one bin, cardboard in another, and aluminum in another. It would be nice if every place had them.

We actually have those in our country, but they only accept limited items that they can sell for a price. Plastic bottles are accepted, but not all trash. So the rest are just being dumped somewhere.

@galileo2008 Oh, that's too bad. It's difficult to get people to care sometimes.

@AmbiePam That's true. I wish we have the recycling machine like the one that was shown on Facebook. It can be installed anywhere and the plastic materials will be recycled into another products.

This is definitely a sad reality. People are so used to using plastic that they think it's almost impossible to say no to it, even just lessen their use. Almost everyone sure is aware of the environmental causes but they py no mind, not fully understanding what amount of harm it is causing.

How I wish we also have that same system here in Vietnam.

That's absolutely true, there's no other way. But it cannot be done by the few, everyone must contribute to save our planet.
