Pretty sure Lassie was a Border Collie. My sister calls her Kai Kai...... Lassie anyway. I always thought she may be a little dumb for a German Shepherd, but not lately. In a nice way. Compared to Tristan, just seemed a bit slower so to speak. I knew being a shelter dog effected her. Been years since that life. Still took her all these years for her to truly trust us. She is indeed smarter than your average bear. I wanted her and told my sister to get another German Shepherd because of Brooklyn. Sold her on the argument that Brooklyn is so high energy. We cannot keep up. We need another high energy dog. To play with and keep Brooklyn busy. Partially true, mostly wanted another German Shepherd because how well Tristan looked out for Brooklyn. Coyotes are mean and I like my dogs to be free. Let them run and Brooklyn is one of the smallest dogs we ever had. Huskies and even a pitbull mix. Think Brooklyn might actually have some pit in her, but she is a bit small and no way are coyotes going to run from her. Most likely attack. That is why I wanted Kai. Tristan would torment them by chasing them and say, not on my watch. Some ran before he even saw them. Another German Shepherd was indeed the solution so Brooklyn could roam free. The plan worked so good and is till this day. Kai loves Brooklyn more than us. She gets upset and comes running if you accidentally step on her paw. This morning was the first time Kai said no to protecting Brooklyn. I find that good also but shocked. You not going to go protect your sister. No, because she is fine and can tell..... tired of everyone babying her. Baby me tooo because I earn that crap. OK Kai, give her some extra loving while Brooklyn is away and then Brooklyn walks in and Kai runs over and licks her face. They saying bad things about you, not me.
