I use Chrome as well and know I can tell you that I am working on 17 Tabs at the same time. It all depends on the performance of your laptop especially RAM. I have a laptop with 8GB RAM so I am kind of at ease working on many things with it.

I usually have a few windows open. I will sometimes use a few tabs on one window, but usually I just open multiple windows.

Since I'm using a MacBook Pro, I use safari. Same with my iPhone. And doesn't matter how many tabs I open, it works perfectly well.

I have power to open as many as I want, but only keep no more than 4-5 open at one time.

At the most I have two tabs open. The one to my gmail account and this one. I usually only work on my pc, but when I'm not home, I will take my laptop with me and work on that. I have a Chromebook, and use Chrome on my pc as well.

I don't like using many tabs at once. When it gets to more than 5, I try to log out of sites I'm no longer interested in.

It's not the browser, but how much powerful your CPU is. My husband can open even 50 tabs and his computer does not slow down. Mine is less powerful, I usually never open more than 10.

I rarely operate desktop for getting online..or using web.. I prefer chrome .. At a time I open at most 3tabs on same window

Chrome is my browser and have no issues. At this point in time I have about 5 tabs and the speed is good too. I even open windows too when I have to work on other sites.
