Happy fish in a clean tank!

Yesterday morning was spent cleaning out the small aquarium that sits next to me in my "office" - otherwise known as the spare bedroom.
The three neon tetras (plus one "assassin snail") seem happy enough in what is much cleaner water than they had before, and we also gave the plants a severe pruning so that we can now actually see the fish!
There were originally six neon tetras, but their number has halved since the tank was started last August. Maybe it's time to buy some more tetras, or should I introduce some different ones?

I'm sure the residents of Fish Tank City are happy with their clean environment.

Very nice work. Tetras enjoy clean, clear water...and by doing water changes and keeping the filter(s) clean (but not too clean/don't want to kill all the beneficial bacteria living in the filter media) - you will be able to keep the nitrates down. You need some nitrates, but not too high of a level. 10 is best, but 20-40 is also in the safe zone. These little guys like to swim in groups of 5-7, but if the 3 seem okay together and you don't see any chasing/bullying, they should do just fine. Nice to see someone else (besides me) taking such great care of their fish.
