the paradox of too many pockets

when the vegetable vendor came by, i couldn't pay him for the veggies i picked out.
the money in my pocket was missing.
earlier, i stepped out to buy rice and a chicken dish from a food stall.
i remember putting the change (60 pesos or three 20-peso bills) in my pocket, as usual.
but now it's empty, so i had to get money from my wallet in my room to pay him.
i search thoroughly around the house, but never saw it.
guess where i found it later?
in the front pocket of my sando (loose sleeveless top).
so that's why it wasn't in the pocket of my shorts!
this mix-up also happens with my hankerchief when i'm out.
i usually put it on the front pocket of my bag for each reach.
sometimes, i would find it in the front pocket of my jeans instead.
one time, i ended up with two hankerchiefs.
i knew i put it on the front pocket of my bag, but it was empty so i had to get another one.
turns out when i put the straps on my shoulder, i had the back side out, which also had a pocket.
clothes and bags with pockets are so convenient, but too many pockets can also stress you out sometimes!

while others have the opposite experience - losing things from their pockets.

@hereandthere I always bring a handbag, I put nothing in my pockets. Most of the time I wear dresses, with no pockets at all.

Too many pockets could end up confusing us at times. Agree with you.

I put my money in the right front side of my jeans every time I go out to buy something. But I put my wallet in the rear right side. As all maong pants with four pockets, each pocket is assigned for handkerchief, one for comb, and one for cellphone, segregated for easy access.

my father only went out with 3 things: his wallet, white handkerchief and comb.
i've also had male officemates who don't have wallets. they just put their money in their pockets. (i just don't know where they put their IDs/cards)

@hereandthere Maybe your officemates just leave their cards at home. I always bring all my ID and atm cards in my wallet. I find it just necessary to have them always available in case i need them.

i can relate to what you wrote. I still prefer more pockets than less ones though.

part of the reason is because i have an oily t-zone, so i always need a hanky to wipe my face.

That's true. Most of the time I left money in my dirty pant's pockets.

that's something my mother and my niece always does/forgets - money, tissue, notes, pins - swimming together in the washing machine

I only have 5 pockets. Having many is good too. I use the secret pocket on my jeans to hide or separate money especially when I travel at night.

Do you use a wallet if you do put your money in your wallet and than in your pocket.
