Maximum For How Many Days A Discussion Can Survive On Mylot?

I have observed that some very interesting discussions are not discussed here on Mylot for a long time! A day or two passed means the discussion is lost for ever! Have you ever seen any discussion initiated lasting for several days? May I know about your observation? What is the maximum time any discussion discussed on this site? Thanks! God bless! The basic shelf life for a post here is one day, two if it's popular.

@AKRao24 Heh. Only respond to half the comments. Wait a month. Then respond to the other comments. I've often done that accidentally.

the only time a discussion "is lost forever" is it was deleted by yourself or by admin. anyone can stumble on your discussion days, weeks, months, years from now and it gets revived again and you earn again from that old discussion.

That means we need to fuel that discussion from time to time and get it back into circulation dear friend! Thanks for your idea @hereandthere!

@AKRao24 not all mylotters are beholden to a discussion that they want to keep pushing it. some mylotters run out of things to say about the topic, or have moved on from it (especially if it was already resolved). conversely, some members also want to see new topics from a member.

It survives alright...They get shown on side. And at times, people visit profiles and check the posts of the person, and then revive it. It just does not appear on the first few pages of notifications. That does not mean it is not going to earn later on.

@AKRao24 Often times when new discussions aren't interesting, members dig up old ones that are interesting.

You have to keep interacting with your discussions to keep them alive and going.

True. Commenting on others' comments is important. And visiting others' posts is important as well.

It depends on the traffic you create. If you're active, people come to your site for a longer time.

Being active includes visiting others' posts often. Many don't get that at first.

Unless a post gets nuked by admin or its author, it can last until pigs fly and James Brown ain't funky.

The more a discussion keeps people responding to it, the longer it lasts. Even having the person who started it go in and respond back to everyone helps keep it going longer as well.

@AKRao24 I tend to take long breaks from the site but today I noticed someone commented on a discussion I made last October. Normally my discussions don't last more than a couple of days but then I'm not that popular. I expect people with a lot of followers can keep them going much longer.

Agreed , basically we need to spend lot of time here to keep up our discussion alive! To have followers you also need to follow them and that needs time! Incidentally just about a week back, one fine day my discussion which was about 10 years old, surfaced to my surprise! These things can happen here sometimes! Thanks dear @sprite1950

Yes it happens. Some of the posts which I write good in my opinion go unnoticed here sometimes. It's just matter of chance that good discussions are not discussed here.

With tags a post can appear in the sidebar, under the "you might also like" That's how I found this discussion. So here, two. On this after you submitted the discussion it is getting another response.

I had a discussion I made 7 years ago that suddenly appeared last year and many people responded to it thinking they were new ones. When one of the members here go over your profile and would comment on one of your old discussions, it could make it alive again.
