Heres a good debate. It is known that we all can change our future because it all depends on oneself. Is it really though because one leads by example such as our children but there are saying such as history repeats itself. Then theres the things we can afford to do like pay for college while others struggle to pay the rent. Even though there are sources to help a person take a step forward like workshops and employment centers is one really able to change their path or take the steps their parents did?

My mantra is "You live by the decisions you make." Your specific outcome is totally related to a decision you make or to a decision you do not make. For example, In order for me to obtain my degree, I had to make the decision to go to return to college. That decision presented a subset of more decisions: Looking for the school, applying to the school, pay the application fee, get registered, go to the classes, do the homework.....Do you see where I'm going with this? Yes, you can change the future of your life but you have to do the work it requires. There is no genie in a bottle, there is no magic formula, there is no wishing for it. Another example: I was having financial problems and was struggling to pay my rent. I made the decision to look at my spending habits. Once I made that decision, it presented another subset of decisions: Stop eating out, scale back on donations, set a budget.......Do you see where I'm going? A person's future is 100% determined by decisions or lack of decisions and that person is 100% responsible. Thoughts?

If only time travel was possible, I won't mind changing my own history a little bit better.
