Setting some goals

I've decided I want to take some steps in my life to hopefully maybe get somewhere in my life. I am looking at possibly going back to school online, where I can do everything from home. I just need to be present in my son's life currently, so online school would be the way to go. I want to do something for myself that would open some doors for my future. I want something to be able to fall back on. I would love to have my life finally in order. I need to start doing things to make stuff happen for myself. I just haven't had the motivation. It's difficult when you have things holding you back like anxiety and depression. It makes things more difficult.
I just know that I want more out of life than I currently have. I love my husband and son but I want to have something for myself and that could help financially. I'm looking into different degrees but am currently undecided. I just know I need something I can mostly do online as I don't have a car. I am hoping to convince my husband to get his GED so he can get a better job and possibly go to school too and maybe we can finally work up to having our own home. I would love to have a place to call my own and that I got to make the ground rules for. Right now we pay rent to stay with my mom and have very little privacy or freedom, at least with my brother being gone we can now occupy the living room again. I need to start setting goals for myself and following through with them. I just need to keep in mind what is at stake.
Here's hoping I can get some motivation and keep it. It's just difficult for me at times but maybe if I can get myself started that will be enough or so I'm hoping.

I will eventually, I have to figure out what I want to major in first because the school I know of requires you to pick a major before you can start. I have been doing some research in some of the courses they have and I am trying to find one that I can easily find work in and that I am at least semi-interested in. I want something I can do completely online as I don't currently have a car and some of these would require field study.

Thanks, I imagine that's a proud feeling knowing you did it on your own, I hope everything continues to go well for you. I think sometimes it's just about motivation. I have a husband but he is the least motivated person I know, so he is content with things the way they are and I'm not. I mean he's a good guy and supportive but when it comes to himself he's happy working at his crappy job and doesn't seem to want to do better for us so that leaves it up to me. I keep trying to go back and get his GED. He doesn't care enough to try that and always uses excuses. I guess that means I need to work on it then. I by no means mean that he is a bad person, he is just content in his work even though it's not the best of jobs. He doesn't have the motivation to do better for himself. That leaves more on my shoulders though, hopefully, once I start working towards a goal he'll hop on board but that just means for now I need to keep on it.

I'm sure in your circumstances it is very difficult to find any motivation but these are very good ideas so I hope you manage to follow through on them. Start off with small steps and take each day as it comes. And the best of luck.

You can do it! A quick story. I know a woman that returned to college at the tender age of 64 and graduated SummaCumLaude with her BS in Biblical Theology. That woman inspired me to return to school at the age of 28. It took me 6 years to graduate with my AAS in Small Business Administration. I attended an accelerated course to obtain my BS in Management and Human Relations. Oh, the woman who inspired me was my grandmother. I share that with you to let you know that you absolutely can return to school online and you can accomplish your goal. Take the first step and the rest will be rewarding. Let me know when you enroll!

Best of luck. I'm going to look into doing the same thing. I'm tired of always being broke and making the boyfriend pay for everything. I liked it better when I contributed more. I hate feeling like a burden to anyone, and I also hate knowing that I would be completely screwed if anything ever happened to him.
Just think, if you get a job eventually, you won't have to pick fights with the hubby to get makeup Sims packs. You'd be able to buy your own.
