I could get used to this life

I am home today due to bad weather.
I got an early, very short nap.
On top of my stove, cooling, is a Reuben Casserole. Tonight's supper. We are so lucky.
My spice cabinet has been reorganized, using those beautiful copper baskets I got on sale at Wal Mart last week. They are about 8x12x3 wire baskets. They came 2/$1 on clearance. I wish I had gotten more. I did not know for sure how I would use them or I would have.
I had to reorganize my spices, I could not find my caraway seeds for my casserole.
In another discussion, some one said I should go drink some cocoa, so I did. I also found an unlabeled spice blend in my cupboard. I sprinkled it on top of the cocoa and it was good. I suspect it was a Marsala blend.
As I said, I could get used to this. It is cold and windy outside still, but I have lovely fragrances all around me.

They do lose flavor, but perhaps you could warm them a little. Some people say it makes them flavorful again.

@GardenGerty Not all, if the color changes, I do not use them anymore.

It was a good day. I went back to work today, but conditions are still icy.

A Reuben casserole has the same basic ingredients as a Reuben sandwich, but with less bread. You cube rye bread, layer either corned beef or pastrami on it, then Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, dill pickles, and caraway seeds. Then another layer of meat. Pour a blend of Thousand Island Dressing, Mustard, eggs and milk over it, top with bread crumbs and bake till egg mixture is done. It is a yummy tangy meal.

I keep hoping so, but there is a big need, both for people in my field and then my need for money is there as well.
