Your reward is on the other side of the line.

Whatever your desires are, whatever your vision for your future may be, take both to the doorstep of reality and courageously cross the threshold of achievement.
Everyone needs a little encouragement, a push every once in a while. What would you like to do in life but you just don't seem to be able to take the first step?

Hmm. The doorstep is where the door, complete with brass knockers, often gets slammed in your face. Sticking your foot into the doorway can help, but as your foot crosses the threshold, all you're likely to achieve is a sore foot. Or have I missed something?

Hello @pgntwo! You have seen this from a pessimistic perspective. And from that perspective you are right on! Now if you can have a paradigm shift and think positively, there is a reward. For example, if I want to improve my chances of getting a promotion on my job in order to make more money to buy a home, I need to become a viable candidate for a better paying position. So, my desire is to get promoted and my vision is to have a 5 bedroom home so my family can live comfortably. I have to take action. What is that action you may ask? Great question! The action is actually applying for the better job. If I possess the qualifications and can handle the responsibility, I sell myself in the interview. I think positively because my family's welfare is at the top of the list. I snag the job! Applying for the job and getting it is the action of taking my desires and vision to the doorstep of reality. Now that I've been promoted, I make the house purchase. Making the house purchase is courageously crossing the threshold of achievement. I don't know how things are in Northern Ireland, but in America, getting a better job in order to buy a bigger home is what is referred to as living the American Dream and that is why I used it to explain the meaning behind the quote. I hope this helps bring some clarity.

@tamara_paparazzi My curmudgeonly view is not without basis, having seen how US, and other nationalities', corporations can treat their employees. So your reply indicates i should take control of my own destiny, shoot for the stars... Perhaps your actual post would benefit from having more of this flesh on its bones .
Note to self: Think Positive

@pgntwo Yes, positive thinking is required, taking control of one's own destiny is a must, and shooting for the stars isn't a bad idea. My post was written with a purpose: To spark interaction and dialogue. I asked a question and received a response.

I understood this perfectly.
It's like a finish line.....and you need to cross it to get what you want. But first you need to cross that finish line. Get rid of all the fear and things that are holding you back. The reward is sitting right there.
