Today, Wednesday, is my day off. I have off days too on weekends. Because it is my day off, I asked my son to have a date with me. He readily agreed, so we went out at 9:30 AM today. But the date is not actually a ‘date’ per se. I asked him to accompany me for some errands, and because I lack a few hours of sleep, I needed him for a helping hand. Our itinerary was- I paid for the premium of the life insurance of my older brother in the bank (Bank of Philippine Islands). Then we went to a government agency (Pag-Ibig) to pay my contributions for 2 months. Next, I and my son were hungry so we went to eat in a Chinese food store (Chow King). Later, we went to the city proper, bought my maintenance medicines for 15 days in a drugstore (Mercury Drug), bought a kilo of grilled pork belly for our lunch (Monterey), then to the grocery (Candice Megamart) where we bought some items like biscuits, milk, a bottle of isopropyl alcohol, then took a ride, paying double, direct to our house. We arrived home at 11:45AM. We stayed only several minutes in each of the bank, office, pharmacy, and grocery but why did it take 2 hours and 15 minutes to do all the errands? Well, the main reason is--- TRAFFIC! And that was our date---I and my son. Now, I am home, and I feel tired and yes, sleepy.

from time to time, we take lunch out especially on Sundays from Jollibee. last Sunday, we had Chow fan from Chow King. 2 Sundays ago, we had Jollibee. usually on Sundays, we come home before 12 noon, and it is already lunch time, and it is so short a time to cook for our lunch; hence, a take-out.

You did a lot and stopped for lunch. Traffic is a universal problem.

yes that is so true. even in the evening. last night when my sister and son fetched me in the hospital, i drive the car and i have to maneuver the car in between vehicles because of traffic. it was already 10:45PM.

What an itinerary! But you accomplished so much in such little time given the traffic. I do not know if the traffic situation will have solution. Hayst.

i think traffic is here to stay. and yes, this off day is a toxic day for me. i napped when i left the desktop a few hours ago; napped because i sat in front of the TV and watched my favorite afternoon series.

that is true. especially now, our city is the host of an athletic event, where the delegates from different schools are occupying the public schools.
