So many times, we are worried about what our children are doing. But with Township, I soon found my daughter is learning more about communities than I ever expected.
- Housing single homes, doubles, townhouses.
- Community Buildings like police station, school, hospitals, grocery store, gas stations.
- Factories likes feed mill, paper plant, labs, markets, textiles and more.
- Farming fields, cow shed, chicken coops, sheep, pigs, and ducks.
- Design pavement types, roads, landscape and things like street lighting, parks, flowerbeds, bridges.
You learn about what folks in a town want. With little pop up messages, "We have no place to park our cars. I could really use some ice cream, it's hot out." Or what they need, "Where's the local school. My daughter's sick I have get to a hospital."
As they play the game they get game coins or cash. These buy the above things so spend smart. At each level specific community needs are open up for you to buy.
Plus, there's planes, trains, and boat orders come on and you get coins, supplies to built with. Example: Carrots, Shirts, Sugar Cane 4/2/9 You start out with one train and can add two more.
You also learn about working with other towns by exchanging and helping out. You get coins for helping and thank you gifts.
It's quite interesting because you learn what makes up things like different breads, a jacket, snacks, syrups, puddings, cakes, even different types of paper.
Here I thought paper was just paper it comes from trees but wallpaper is made with two things. Do you know what they are? Or what makes up a popsicle? How about a bagel?
I attached a screenshot to give you an idea. Tiny people, plants, vehicles, animals all move so it's like watching a real community interact.
That's a whole lot of learning and she's begining to ask questions so I might take her to meet our town mayor. Someone I communicate with many times when dealing with events and news pieces I cover.
