8 a.m. came and I already started making calls. First, I called area school asking about their drill policies in place and if they have made any recent changes after, #ParklandShooting . Then, I called the local police department, spoke with an officer on issues such as police presence at schools, safe passage ways for students, and through in sexual predators in the community being he was being so helpful. Once finished, he forwarded me to the chief so that I could get information on their next public community session, which currently is not scheduled. So, are they planning on one? Parkland happened, people in the community have questions. And I still have to touch base with the deputy mayor on student safety and safe sidewalks.
