Child-Free Couples

Philippines

I've got a brother he visited me earlier to have some drinks and gave the kids some gifts from their latest trip, he's been married for 8 years now to a beautiful girl and they still don't want to have kids. He told me that having no kids is more fun, the money they save goes to travel expenses, they get to go on local and foreign trips buy properties and always drives a new car. My wife's jealous because they seem to have no financial worries. What are your thoughts on this?

Not having kids can have it's benefits, but their financial situation isn't necessarily due to lack of Children. Loads of people do what your brother and his wife does and they have kids.

@Kakashi20 I live in the US. We have school expense. rent, mortage, electric bill, water bill, You name it, theres a bill for it. I think most but not everybody that is able to do all that is probably making good money. Sometimes it's just a matter of knowing where to find the good deals, so you don't necessarily have to be wealthy either.

Actually I might do that in the future. Maybe even no marriage. I am from China. Traditionally you should get married and have kids. But yeah, as you said, you can get more financial freedom without the responsibility to raise up kids. In China, if you want your child to have a quality life and good education, you need to pay a lot.

Yep it's a hard choice to make for everyone nowadays more people wants to concentrate on careers than having a family.

I think it's really a personal choice. Some couples want kids, while others don't. Either one is fine. My husband and I wanted kids and now we have three. It's not always easy, but we love our family.

I really think not everybody is cut out to be a parent, some really do not enjoy the job. Many do enjoy it, I am one, I cannot imagine my life without my little ones, yes there are financial issues involved but that is only for a few years, it passes.

jealous of what ? if shes jealous of them that means shes not happy with her current state of life. the life your brother and his wife chose is theirs, no need to be jealous of them. they seem to be enjoying each others company and in a way setting the future for when and if they have children.

We are child-free by choice and love it. Lots of extra $$ and time to spend on ourselves.

Nothing natural should be refused..Some say they are happy as single ,some other happier as homosexual ,some find happiness with animal than human. For me my daughter is source of much happiness than 1000 foreign trips and mundane properties.

@Kakashi20 Noel, I wonder if they are just saying that because they really want kids and maybe so far they could not bring them into the world. I thought most people wanted kids.

They feel bored after some days .If any misunderstanding comes ,then it leafs to divorce. If any child is there means ,because if Chile sake they start to live together.

I thought about that too. Children makes a couples relationship stronger without a family a couple usually splits up over time.

for me, yeah maybe for now they're enjoy because they can travel wherever they want and anytime they want but still having kids in the house is a different story... kids give happiness in our house and as for me, my child gives me the meaning of a true woman and she gives me the opportunity to play the greatest role in our life.. to become a parent or a mother and that is the greatest role a true parent only can portray...
