Does jogging really help?

I was knocking on the doors of obesity some 10 months back..as far as I remember it was last May. My doctor advised me to lose pounds immediately so as to avoid health conditions. In fact, he told me to have a stroll daily at the park. But I went a step ahead and opted for jogging instead. In fact, I jog for 5 minutes, then go for a brisk walk, again jog another 4 minutes followed by a stroll...like this! This way I manage to conserve my energy for the day. And I have managed to lose 4 kgs in 10 months or so! So jogging really helps after all! I had a dilemma about this before but now it's clear.
Are you unanimous with me?

Yes that is a good way to start jog and then walk and that is what I do sometimes.
If not I run a bit here and there if I donĀ“t feel up to par.
Well done losing the weight also.

Right on as you can stop and recover more easily and drop into a fast walk and then go slowing down and if you feel okay you jog a bit more.

Any type of physical exercise is going to be helpful.
