Ohio has been described as "the farthest west of the east and the farthest north of the south."
An unusual position during the Civil War, siding with the north but having many Southern sympathizers, who were known as COPPERHEADS.
The name Ohio means "something great" in the Iroquois language.
Seven U S presidents were born in Ohio, Making the state the "Mother of Presidents." Virginia "fathered" 8 U S presidents.
Motto: With God, All Things Are Possible."
Nickname: Buckeye State.

When I lived in the states Ohio always sort of illuded me. I never had to be in the state but have been in all of the surrounding states - Illinois, Michigan, and Indiana.
