Toothache .. the worst pain ever!

A few days ago I was suffering from really bad toothache. I rinsed with salt water, I took pain killers but there was very little relief from the throbbing pain down one side of my face especially when I ate or drank.
I made an appointment with the dentist who confirmed the tooth would have to come out as it was badly decayed. Normally I would be afraid but I thought to myself nothing could be as bad as what I was suffering.
The whole process of the extraction was pretty painless despite my quaking heart as I felt the needle in my gum and the relief afterwards could only be described as euphoric .. no more pain! I stopped off on the way home to get a chocolate bar as a celebration as I hadn't been able to have one for a while because I knew it would trigger the pain.
For anyone who is putting off going to the dentist out of fear .. do it! Yes it will cost a bit but it is definitely worth every penny to have your quality of life restored again. I would actually rather be in labour than suffer the pain of toothache!

@Ithink Well you aren't the only one, My sister has very bad teeth but she rarely goes. I think she must be suffering pain sometimes but doesn't tell me because she knows I will scold her for not going!

@Ithink I think you're brave not to go because the pain is awful. It's one thing that will send me running to the dentist for help.

@aureliah Really? I'm a real baby when it comes to pain so I ran off whining to the dentist.

@aureliah dentists are not as bad as they used to be. It's just the thought that's frightening.

@luisadannointed it's true. I missed my chocolate bars while I had toothache but they don't do my teeth any good.

@marlina I suppose I'm lucky then because I haven't suffered anything worse. My daughter has terrible pain in her back and leg from discs which bulge out in her back. She cries and rocks with the pain where the discs press on the sciatic nerve. Once we had to get her to hospital but had to get the paramedics to come and move her because she was in such so much pain.

@marlina Yes but now she has medication to control it. I worry though in case it gets worse when she wants to have a baby,

@Hannihar I don't like the thought of going but I'm glad once it's over. I want to take care of the teeth I have left.

@Betxie1221 It definitely is. I couldn't function properly until I had it out but I felt fantastic afterwards.
