Valentine's Day has passed but it got me to thinking about romantic movies and which ones you would classify as the best. The films that would appeal to both sexes. Here are 2 that I really enjoyed: 1. Silver Linings Playbook- Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper were two crazy personalities meant for each other and wind up together in the end. And a movie with Bobby De Niro in it plus football for the guys. A can't miss pleaser for guys and gals. 2. The Wedding Singer- In a word hilarious. Especially the wedding scenes. And most of us enjoy weddings don't we? Great 80's music and boy gets girl senario makes for a pleasant viewing for all. So, what movies have you seen over the years that you recommend adding to my list? Photo- google images- You Tube

Normally I hate romance movies. Except for "Wedding Singer" ( you're right, it's brilliant) and "When Harry Met Sally"

When Harry Met Sally was a terrific flick! That was one of Billy Crystal's best film roles. Although not a romance movie he was also very good in Analyze This with Bobby De Niro. Of course, De Niro can help make anyone's performance great!

I enjoy a good romantic movie but missed Silver Linings Playbook. I remember when it was out and popular

Very good movie and funny! Robert De Niro was great as the father.

I've never been a romantic movie guy. I'm afraid I can't help you here.

@dgobucks226 - I loved Roxanne. "I was working on this all night." "Dear Roxanne. Would you like to go out with me? If yes, check this box." Hilarious.

No worries! I prefer romantic comedies more like Steve Martin's Roxanne or romantic dramas like Romancing The Stone. Some of those strictly romantic ones can be sappy.

I have not seen either of these. What I saw was a Star Wars movie and it was really good.

@dgobucks226 I was surprised to see that. I have not really seen Star Wars on Netflix and there it was. I had to watch it because I love Star Wars.

Although probably not romantic the Star Wars series is one of the best! I remember being totally wrapped up in the initial Star Wars film it was so creative with the characters and story.

@Hannihar Yes, I really liked that episode, but was saddened to see Han Solo die. That movie was well done. I just watched the latest one "Rogue One" entertaining but not as good as the originals.

I like a lot of romantic movies, but right now what it came to my head was Wicker Park or L'Appartement

A good romantic movie is so much more pleasurable to watch than the violent ones which seem to dominate the movie theatres today. Thanks for your response...

I guess my favorite romantic comedy is You Can't Take It With You, with Jimmy Stewart and Jean Arthur. Always good to see the boy get the girl!

Some of those romantic comedies of the 30's and 40's were the best! You can't go wrong with an Academy Award winner
