The question is have you been to visit loved ones who have passed graves? Most of my family is buried in my hometown which is about 8.5 hours from here. When I go to visit up there I usually devote my time to spending it with the living..but I would like to visit my grandparent's graves. The last time I was there was when the remainder of the couple passed away. The next time I go up there I think I am going to ask my parents to take me to the graves. I could find the cemetaries but not the exact location of the graves.

No, we don't have that tradition of visiting graves here in my country. We do have a 40 day ritual but after that no one visit unless it is All Souls Night which is mostly observed by the Christians. There is no sentimental reason to visit graves. What do you feel when you visit the graves?

I haven't been to any of my family's graves in a couple of years. (I really don't like graveyards.) The last time I went was when my sister ask me to show her where one of our brother's grave was. She said she couldn't locate it. (I think she just didn't want to go by herself.)
Most of my family are buried in our family's section of a local graveyard. (My parents donated 5 acres to the church for a graveyard.)
You live a long way from your parents. Do any of your other family members live closer to you?

Yes, my son isn't too far away, and my sister lives a few hours closer.

@snowy22315 That's good then. I was thinking that would be a long way to go if you wanted to see some of your family.

No I haven't been to family gravesites in many many years. Even when I lived closer than I do now I never went.

We have time to visit our relatives on their graves. We have this tradition called, all saints and all souls day where we visit and stay in our passed relatives in their graves and offer prayers or food. Sometimes it will end as a reunion from people who lives far away.

OH OK, I think there is a Buddhist tradition that is somewhat similar. Maybe that is what you are describing.
