Opal got spayed

Yes, this was the day. I took her to Emancipet this morning and picked her up this afternoon. I tried to do it in January, but she got sick. The lady who brought her out said that she was so cute - and she is. They put a little green collar on her with this big tag, and I was telling her that the tag is as big as she is. Mentioned it to the wife and she agreed, but also pointed out that it covers up her "beauty mark." I call it her "Twinkie" cause it looks like that spot on a Twinkie that you can see the cream filling. I guess the collar is coming off because we don't want to not see her little white spot. Only white on her. She's kind of stumble-y from the meds she got, but she's all purrs and happy to be home.

I misspelled your title and I read 'Opal got payed'. When I read your discussion, I realized my mistake. :)

I guess since she keeps us entertained, she gets 'payed' in loving and food every day.

They will wear off soon and she will be back to her normal self.

That was a week ago and she's back to her normal, terroristic self.

@Hannihar she's a typical, young cat, who has "things to do and places to go." Older cats are more inclined to laying about.

@ElicBxn It sounds like Opal like to cause a lot of trouble for you ElicBxn. What does she do?

And she's sweet - well, at least to us. She jumped my back earlier and got a nail in the skin of my neck, that HURT!

I have more than one cat, but we've put a lot of work into raising her up, so she's pretty special.

Poor Opal, she is still a bit dizzy for the meds, but she is lovely.

She's full of spit and vinegar this morning. She's in one of those "don't hold me, I've got to run!" moods.

@LadyDuck this is pretty much how she is every morning. I'm glad to see her back to being more normal.

At least you know that Opal won't have any future surprises to give you @ElicBxn .

She's so tiny I'd be afraid of her getting pregnant. Four pounds is a tiny cat at nearly 8 months.

@ElicBxn Holy Crap! 4 pounds??? Bless her heart. Yeah, it could have been extremely dangerous for Opal had she have gotten pregnant.

@ElicBxn To a cat even play is serious warrior business. I know my hunting alpha cat is serious she broke a really thick oat twig sliding across the yard to get her prey.. she hunts daily.. she is outdoor feral.. ...i think she could bite a human finger off.. just remember to never use what you wear, fingers or toes... or they think that is ok.. but i noticed cats love to play with anything you can drag along the ground and lift fast...

I've seen them come out groggy and come out hyper, once in a while, they will be normal, but the silly ones are hyper.

Thanks, we were a bit worried since she is so small. Nine days short of being 8 months and she's only 4 pounds.

I bet she is very happy to be at home. She should lay around all day. Very pretty cat.

She's been laying on my desk, leaning on me. Not going to be real happy when I head off to bed soon.
