Are commercials longer?

I've noticed commercials between shows and between between segments shows are about 5 minutes long. Used to be, commercial segments were only 2 minutes long. Just a few years ago there were only one one commercial which was 2 minutes long.
Have you noticed that?

We do that when we stop paying for cable. When times get hard, out come the DVDs.

@OreoBrownie The TV box comes with our Internet, but most of the programs are boring.

I rarely watch tv and when I do, I'm on HBO with no commercial breaks.

Yes, commercial breaks do run longer. Long ago, a TV episode ran 50 minutes out of an hour then dwindled to 45 minutes and now some shows are 43 minutes.

Commercials have no beginning or end. They just run into each other.
