I would like to wish everyone who celebrates it, a very Happy Holi!
For mylotters who may not know what Holi celebration is all about, here is the story.
Long ago there was a king who wanted to be prayed to as a god and forced his subjects to worship him. No one could rebel against this cruel king until one day, the king had a son.
As the son grew (from baby to child), he refused to pray to his father as a god and believed in Lord Krishna as his god.
The king was furious and tried to have his son killed. He tried may ways but some unforseen thing always seem to save him. Nothing worked and it was believed that Lord Krishna was protecting the child.
Finally, the kings sister (Holika) offered the king a way. She had a red cloth that was given to her that was supposed to be fireproof. She said she would drape herself in that cloth and sit with the child in a open flame.
When the plan was put in place, and both Holika and the king's son were in the fire, a strong wind came and blew the cloth off Holika, onto the child.
Again, the child was saved, and Holika was burned alive.
So, because of all this , people celebrate Holi as the burning of evil.
How the king died is a whole other story.

Have what stuffed in their eyes, @vandana7? Manisha didn't say anyone touched anyone else or stuffed something into or onto them... Now I am confused again... *sigh*

Thank you for explaining this to me... I ask my little brother but he said only that it was a festival in India... *sigh* Since I am a vain man, I didn't want to ask him again, so still didn't understand...
