The sun will come up tomorrow, or maybe not

Regardless of the weather tomorrow, we are going to the dental clinic for my husband. He has had dental problems for years, and although he has no job, we have some money aside. He is getting five extractions and a lower plate. It will be good for his health. It will be good for his looks if he does go out to look for a job. Right now, we know he can draw unemployment. In addition, in May/June he will be doing a job he used to do in the past. It is only done right before wheat harvest. Kansas is well known for selling seed wheat, but before it can be sold as such, the fields must be inspected for weeds. Only a certain percentage will be allowed. He has not done it for at least three years, but he loved doing it. He called the organizer and will be assigned some fields. It pays well, and he loves it. I hope he appreciates the new teeth as well. I am out of school due to a teacher work day.

I hope things go well for your husband, both with regards to the job and the dental work. I'm sure both will make him feel good about himself!

Right now he is resting. I think anticipating this made him very anxious. He tells me he got his first partial at 14 after an accident broke some of his teeth.

@GardenGerty - It is interesting how stress can make us tired. I hope things go well for him.

I am glad he is getting this done, bad teeth really can affect your health over the long haul. My hubs had two extracted last year.

I find myself wondering if the bad teeth is why he has heart damage and had his stroke. He should have done this years ago.

@GardenGerty They do say gum issues can cause heart problems so I wouldn't rule it out.

It is a lot, but that is how he wanted to do it.

@GardenGerty Our dentists try to limit the number of teeth they remove in one sessions, due to the longer time it takes to heal when you remove too many teeth at the same time.

I'm sure your husband will be happy once all that work is finished and have his new teeth. Hope all those extractions aren't too painful.

He came home with a temporary denture which should be good for him for at least six months while he heals.

I wish there were more things like the wheat job. He really enjoys being out doors.

Hope he gets a job soon, if thats what he wants. But the wheat thing sounds like it has his interest. Which is good

There are many things like this wheat job that come up, and I would like him to be able to do them if he wants to.

Yes, bad teeth make you sick. The wheat job is only temporary, but it is something he enjoys.

I used to go poison-picking with my father. We had to walk the newly cleared paddocks and hand-pick any little poison bushes that we saw.

Poison picking? Poison what? Was it poison to the cattle and sheep, or like poison ivy? That would be good to hear about more.

It is, but he wanted to be able to get the denture to put in today. They have been bad for a while.

Let's hope his condition would improve after his dental operation. All the best.
