Does interest towards work increase after receiving rewards or salary?

As I am a freelancer, this sentence reflects me today.I have hired someone for small work via social networking site.Usually buyer won't pay until he get the file from seller. After receiving only most of them pay.I too followed the same because more scammers are in social networking site but just for confirmation I paid 20 rupees prior. After that my worker starts to reply with more confident.Then completed the work as per my requirement.I feel happy after successful completion.
What I am saying is, workers interest keeps increasing after seeing money in their wallet.
what's your opinion on this?

it's similar to having something repaired here. you give a downpayment first, then pay the balance when the job is completed.

but there was no assurance in freelancing works through online.You need to find correct person according to their profile.I usually give more importance to profile picture and the time they join and their recent post.I shortlist candidates according to this criteria.
