Men gossip more than women ?

According to a study by Onepoll, men spend an average 76 minutes a day gossiping with their friends or work colleagues, compared to just 50 minutes for women.
Favourite topics include friends’ drunken antics, local news agenda, sexual relationships and the most attractive woman at work.
Whereas women are more likely to complain about other women, soap operas, other women's boyfriends / husbands or their friend's weight gain.
This poll went further to prove that ‘men aren't as bad as women, they're worse! Men just love a bit of scandal, and will do anything they can to be centre of attention with their colleagues and peers.’
Do you think these claims are true ?

My partner doesn't gossip. I know if I tell him something it will be kept a secret and I can trust him not to pass it on.

@houda28 I try not to gossip because it can cause problems for people but I'm sure there are both male and female people who like a good old gossip.

@sprite1950 I don't gossip either. My friends usually kick me out of the room once they start gossiping.

I think it may have a lot to do with the age of the people who were in the study, those sound like young men.

Maybe, but it also depends on a man's character.
