Is GPS your best bud or worst nightmare?

I've always been geographically challenged. Never could read those maps.
When we got GPS, then used the one that comes with our cell phone, I thought, "Great! Now someone other than my husband can tell me where to go and how to get there."
Just kidding about the husband, he's a sweetie although he is rather bossy.
I usually can do fairly well when the GPS voice (or Jean as we call her, short for genius) tells me where to turn, etc.
But one time I was driving in a large city (the decision was made in a moment of insanity and has never been repeated) when Jean announced, "Go south."
Go south??!! I shouted, "If I knew where south was, I wouldn't need you!!!"
We finally found south and made it home safely.
I haven't trusted Jean since.

Maybe, or she thinks I'm smarter than I am.

Mines always said left or right never South or the others. So never had that problem, thankfully. But would be very stressed and in tears if it did.

That's how I felt. I really was so stressed trying to drive in a large city, but never again. Not by choice anyway.

I am very poor at direction. I depend on GPS and it is quite useful for me. However, sometimes I also have the confusion like you. I don't understand why doesn't the GPS tell me left or right, forward or backward. I feel very lost when it tells me go to south, north, west or east

I'm really terrible with directions as well! I would have had trouble knowing where South was too. Lol

@1creekgirl Yes, I have seen people getting stuck in roads without an exist following their GPS.

I do like the GPS. But the constant chattering of directions does drive me a bit crazy!

I don't use it either around here, just if we go farther away.
