Favorite "Life" Songs #3 - "Life In the Gladhouse"

Continuing the mission, as we say in the Army. We are at #3 in my countdown of my favorite songs with "life" in the title: "Life In the Gladhouse" by Modern English. Yes, even on the off chance that you are drawing a blank right now, you know Essex, England's Modern English, if for nothing else than their overplayed hit, "I Melt with You" (a fantastic piece of alternative pop music, but overplayed nonetheless.) From the same album as that wildly popular hit, 1982's After the Snow, "Life In the Gladhouse" is pure 80's alternative (and you know me, I am all about 80's alternative music.) It was released as a twelve inch single club mix, reaching #26 on the UK Indie chart. It's drum/percussion-heavy, it's got a great bassline, and even a reference to pogo pits! And it's one of the world's all-time great cowbell songs! Proof that there was more to Modern English than "I Melt with You." I've linked to the album version. Enjoy!
