Reading challenge - how many books do you want to read in 2018?

I was on Goodreads the other day (a site where you create lists of books you have read, are currently reading, and want to read, read reviews, etc.) and they had this reading challenge thing I could join for 2018. I didn't really read up on it but it seems that you set a goal for the number of books you want read in 2018 and they help you reach that goal.
I wonder if joining this reading challenge will help me read more books this year and if I will actually reach the goal I set. I also wonder what the reasonable amount of books to read in a year would be for me. I wouldn't want to set too high a goal and not reach it.
Without joining this reading challenge I am already reading more books than I read last year. So, maybe there is no point in joining, though it may be fun to take part in it.
How many books do you want to read in 2018? Have you set a goal for yourself? Will you take part in the Goodreads reading challenge?

If you are reading more books this year compared to before, that's great! Perhaps you don't need to set a goal then, as you are reading more books already. And the goal is just to make you read more.

That's a pretty low number, so easily achievable, as long as you can get yourself to sit down and read.

I would not state any number. I read some books in a day and other take me months. Usually, I read slowly the best books.

@lovebuglena I have read books that were so good and important that I understood to perfection that I read them slowly.

I've had books that took many months to read. Yes, they were huge books, but the reason for taking that long to read them had nothing to do with their size. It was about me actually being in the mood to read or getting myself to sit down and read.

@marguicha I think as long as you finish a book (and want to finish it) it shouldn't matter how long it takes you to read it from start to finish. The important thing is that you read it until the end.

Not sure if it's a bad sign but reading books is a good thing. Don't give it up.
