the forecast was right after all

On the left is what the skies looked like earlier today when they were predicting a 70% chance of rain. I thought that was absolute bonkers, as it was clear and sunny and in the mid-70s.
On the right, that's what the skies looked like this afternoon. The wind had picked up and darker clouds were rolling in. By about 3:30, it was sprinkling. Not too hard, but certainly rain.
I felt rather silly after it started raining because I was positive it was going to be sunny all day. Good thing I'm not a weather forecaster, or I'd be out of a job.

don't worry, a weather forecaster cannot give an accurate weather condition.

@ridingbet It's still raining. I'm worried that we won't be able to go to the park for my son's little party on Saturday.

It was certainly more accurate than my prediction.

@spiderdust I am sure that in 2 months I will complain because it is too hot. I would not complain if the temperature would be temperate during all the year round, not too hot, not too cold.

Too true! I should remember that.
I shouldn't complain about rain, because I know in 2-3 months I'll be complaining about how hot and dry it is outside. I hope our decade long drought is finally ending.

@LadyDuck When it gets hot here, it gets HOT. It was 117°F at least one day last summer.

@spiderdust It definitely is. This morning was quite chilly again, but in a couple days we will be in the 80's!

@LovingMyBabies I've been told that the rain is supposed to last all week. I hope it's dry on Saturday, we were going to have my son's little birthday party at a park, but I'll have to figure something else out if it's going to be wet.

@just4him It's from the early 1990s, I think. It was a funny romantic comedy.

I keep thinking of that movie "LA Story" where Steve Martin's character lost his job as a TV meteorologist because he announced there would be beautiful weather and then there was a rare downpour.

What sucks is when it's really nice when you leave the house so you leave without a jacket and get caught out in it.

It's dark and wet today too. Quite the opposite of yesterday morning! I don't think we'll be taking any walks or playing outside today.
Ack, I just remembered that we left the bubble machine outside yesterday, which means it got drenched overnight. I hope it still works!

@thislittlepennyearns Was it an outdoor use extension cord? Those are usually insulated against the water.

@spiderdust fingers crossed it still works when you bring it in. we left the extension cord out over the weekend when it rained. I'm not sure if it works still.
its sunny and bright here today, the wind has picked up a little bit more than it was earlier, but its not bad.

Like @LadyDuck mentioned above, when they predict rain, it usually rains, but sometimes they make mistakes about nice weather.

That is where a weather forecaster has you.Sometimes there is no knowing what the weather will do.

@spiderdust In addition, there are satellites that provide meteorological data to them.
