My friend and I took a hike on Saturday that started at Lake Anza in Tilden Park and wound up at an animal farm, also in Tilden Park, that I have visited several times with the Oakland kids I used to work with. It was the same hike that led to my run-in with a slug.
At the animal farm, I befriended a cow, who was quite used to humans offering her treats and petting her. I think she's a fine catch, and I will visit her again soon. I assume she's a tad young for me, and she's not a horse, but I won't let that bother me.
Have you noticed how much kids enjoy interacting with friendly animals? I think it's good for them. There were parents with their young children all around us, and all (both parents and children) seemed quite engaged.

What pretty eyes! And I'll bet she'll let you play with her mammary glands if you warm your hands up first.

So pretty! Although in person, I'd definitely stand back and say scary. Lol.

@Courtlynn Cows usually run from people, though. It's obvious that this one has been a "darling" since she as a calf.

Really only 2 reasons I became a decent person and decent is debatable.Even thie biggest jerks who tried to make me hate showed me the kindness of animals. The other was indeed that three chord stuff you think is unworthy. Well done, sir no matter how one looks at life.

@TheHorse I love folk and wish the punk section had more folk singers. Pretty rare for a music that is kind of rare.

I am so happy for you. I still enjoy interacting with the animals even as an adult. I always try to seek them out when I travel.

@TheHorse ha ha and on reading the topic , I got an impression that this discussion will be of some other kind of romance or some kind of mushiness !

She looks a lovely cow and some really seem to like the interaction. Here is one of our bucket-fed calves that went on to become a house-cow. My friend is on her and my sister and I are trying to make sure she stands still for the photo. Her name was Bimbo.

Now that's a pretty cow, too bad she isn't a horse. Now what happens if a horse breeds with a cow?

I see nothing wrong with cross-species love affairs, as long as it isn't me being "loved", pony!
Your bovine friend looks very nice. I am curious, though... Did you happen to ask her how she would feel having an equine boyfriend?

@TheHorse Oh, wow!
Uhm... why didn't I ever think to try bribing girls to like me, like you do, pony?

@TheHorse - I think your new girlfriend is beautiful, and very friendly! LOL Yes, it is so good for kids to be around animals, especially if the kids have experienced any kind of stress or trauma.

@TheHorse - Maybe that is why pets tend to become such important parts of our families.

lol I agree that interacting with animals is good for kids. Although when I was little, we went to a zoo and a girl (not me) put her finger in the gorilla cage and it bit her.

@JESSY3236 Interesting. At the zoos I've been to (mostly Chicago, Oakland and San Francisco), there's a space between the people areas and the animal areas.

@TheHorse it was a small zoo and it was late 80's when it happened. The zoo closed later on. I don't know why it closed though.

So what would we call a hybrid between a horse and a cow?

My grandmother had 12 milking cows on her dairy farm. Cows are the sweetest animals, ever born.

What a cute cow that is. I believe so too that we children should be exposed to animals and have interaction. It is helpful in their well-being.
