When a husband makes a stupid decision

Once I had the unnerving experience of listening to a woman describe how stupid her husband was. It made me wince several times. It’s not as if she didn’t love him, but the way she described him would make others to look down on him. I thought she was anything but submissive. At least, if she didn’t support some of the decisions he has made, they should not be made known to the public. Sometimes, the man could be at fault. He could be fond of making mistakes here and there. That would be a testing time for the wife who wants to obey and respect her husband. If you are a wife, what do you do when your husband makes a stupid decision in the home? If a man, have you been told before that one of your decisions was a stupid one by your wife? What would you have done?

@mydanods It's not elegant, it's not polite and it gets the feeling that the husband is submitted, that is very bad.

@sjvg1976 I would tell her to discuss it with her husband and if he still thinks she is wrong, to let it be.

But should she make others aware of it? That is what made me wince.

Almost all our decisions are made jointly. Sometimes I might know nothing about, say, something we're buying so I'm happy to go along with whatever my husband suggests. I have never run him down in public. It is something I just don't do. I might have a small grumble occasionally to a close friend but that is as far as it goes.

That is why both of you are happy together. Keep it up, Judy.

@mydanods I don't like it when people run down their spouse in a serious way. I think couples should be as loyal as possible to each other and sort out problems before they get too large.

Whether she gets mad or not, she should not lose her sense of what is proper.

If I was a wife, I will suggest my husband some other ideas. I will tell him that he is wrong and try to make him understand my point but without losing my temper. bUT, I will never underestimate in public.

Don't ever embarrass him in public, whether you don't agree with him or you agree. I hate it when couples don't keep their secret troubles to the bedroom.
