Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy Saturday to everyone and here we're celebrating St. Patrick's Day. Being of Irish heritage it's a big day for my family and I'll be watching the parade on television. Then we'll be having dinner at my daughters tonight and she's making corned beef, cabbage and potatoes. She's also making a few loaves of Irish Soda bread today and it's always delicious. I don't even attempt to make it since hers is so good. I especially like it for breakfast the next day slathered with butter. Yum! The sun is shining and the sky is mostly blue so it's a perfect way to start off the day. Do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Are you wearing green today?

I am wearing green since I am Irish but we will not be eating corned beef and cabbage-none of my family likes it. I hope you have a great weekend! =)

I'm 6% Irish. It's a little small, but that's fine. I'm not wearing green, but watered my flowing shamrocks that I got as a gift last year. They are cute little growers.

Everyone's Irish on St. Patrick's Day! Your shamrock plants sound pretty.I don't think I've ever seen one

@Marilynda1225 They were really big last year, after a couple dry spells (I was traveling or it was really hot) the leaves got smaller on newer plants. They have little white flowers that pop up. Currently, there are probably ten or so flowers out.

i used to big time but of course here in my house with only the 3 of us barely surviving different trials we are not so much celebrating holidays lately as just celebrating accomplishments. like getting something paid or being able to succeed at something although we are all Irish and luckily they have always been ones to survive the worst.

Another very grey and rainy day. I am glad that I had planned to stay at home. No St. Patrick's celebrations here.

I am not Irish but you don't have to be to celebrate St Patrick's Day here in some form. When I worked in the office we would decorate it, wear green and bake or make something in keeping with the day. I still do that.

Irish soda bread sounds good. We didn't do anything special in the way of food.
