Female Or Male ? - Who Makes the Best Employees?

The fact is - both! .... I hire my staff based on qualifications, personality and eagerness to be productive - the way it should be . I have never looked at a person's race, color , gender or religion as a deciding factor. Oddly enough , this year the most qualified people are all turning out to be women , so it looks like my summer staff will be all female . Might look like to an outsider this year I am biased , but im not!

Where I used to work, there were women than men . They worked just as hard or harder in some cases.

I found last year the woman for the most part worked well and on task better than the guys - unless they started distracting each other ,and of course...damn cell phones!...have to ensure they all stay away from those while working !

I'm glad you just choose the best person for the job regardless.

doesn't matter to me as long as they're over 40 and don't slack and play with their cell phone all day instead of working.

I agree. It's both but it's the same in my company. Most of the qualified are women and they excel too. Not being biased coz I'm a woman. Last year, I hired a PWD secretary. She impressed me during the job interview. But after a couple of weeks, she failed to live up to my expectation. A secretary's job is one of fiduciary. Someone who knows how to keep things confidential. She failed at that. And worst, she made everybody fight with each other, and made one of the managers lose her job. Had to let her go.

It really is best to hire someone because they are the right person for the job and not because of any other factors. Too many still worry about gender.
