When we were kids we were only permitted to use fountain pens after the pencil.
We were not allowed to use Ball point pens or Dot pens.
I have used the fountain pen till I have completed my graduation.
In my Post graduation I recall having used Gel point ball pens.
Despite having many varieties of ball point pens in the market and I use them frequently for the convenience, the fountain pens remain my favourite ones.
With the changing times in Life people have changed their lifestyles!
I still know people use fountain pens on regular basis!
Are you one of them? If not, which is the pen you use for your daily writing?
Please respond! Thanks!

Yes, I can understand that...as many of them might have never seen what a fountain pen looks like! Thanks @JohnRoberts!

Well no longer but I used fountain pens with the Chelpark brand ink till 8th class.
And I recall the ink with dark blue (almost blackish) color was my favourite!

@AKRao24 and then there was a time when my favorite darker shade used to be unavailable and I had to do with a more normal color shade, which I did not like that much. But after 1991/92 I had started using ball pens and Gel pens like Reynolds more.

So true, today everything is needed to be finished fast....no body has time to refill the pen with the ink and getting those ink marks on hands and clothes. In fact the ball point pens are very handy and practicable. Easy to procure and very affordable....so they have surpassed the fountain pens very easily. But I still like using the fountain pens as they have their own charm! What do you say? Thanks @sarik1!

When I was young I found a bottle of ink and a pen for it. I played with it. After getting so inky on my fingers. I closed the bottle and asked my Mom and grandparent if they wanted the pen and ink bottle...they said no. So I threw them away and was happy with ball point pens. Unlike others I didn't master the fountain pen.

Enjoyed to know your experimentation with the fountain pen ...you were too clever to ask if any one wanted that pen before throwing it! Yes, ball point pens are very easy to handle and there is no mess involved! Thanks @oahuwriter !
