I don't care what they say about Facebook, I'm keeping my wall.

I ain't gonna stop posting my stuff on my Facebook wall. Because, It isn't Facebook that is to blame for that situation with those dudes who made the news. They say Facebook stock is going down, but why is that? I mean, all along, everyone knew that what you put on your wall is gonna be there for the entire world to see. So be sensible about it. I only use my wall to post articles I write here and at other sites that I write at. I only use it to keep up with my family and a few good followers, and that's about it.
Keep doing what you're doing. Everybody knows that social media is the best thing since apple pie and dr. pepper, hot dogs and baseball. Well, in my case Football, lol.

I joined facebook back when it was still in its beta phase, then when it changed and improved, I stayed only there for a year. I don't like it but I don't care if people do. They can post whatever they want there and I couldn't care less coz you wouldn't catch me browsing or posting anything on facebook. But I keep my account as I have only the facebook messenger app in my phone. It's where my employees message me, my relatives from antlers country.

It is a money saver for me to keep in touch with relatives and friends, otherwise I would be charging up quite a phone bill for long distance. It is a convenience, and any service is subject to abuse so no matter what type of social media you may use, it's just common sense not to post things that might cause trouble. I try to use discretion when I post and share there.

@lookatdesktop I've been with instagram for so long but I never experienced anything similar to facebook stalking. My instagram is on private mode and nobody could see what I post there unless I allow them to follow me. That's why I feel much safer using Instagram.
Facebook, I never post, just use the messenger as a means of communication tool.

I need social media to promote the good deeds people do.

Indeed. This is the true benefit of using it. It can be abused just like any form of media, like for instance, rag magazines and fake news. You can share with family and friends and if you are political that is okay too because we are supposed to be a society of freedoms that includes the right to free speech. Of course. good deeds go a lot farther than making trouble or saying negative or insulting things. It reflects your good nature to do and say things that promote good feelings among your constituents.

Here is one of the most recent articles online about this situation.
Give Mark Zuckerberg credit: He sat for an interview with CNN amid the worst run of media attention ever for the company he founded in a Harvard dorm room 14 years ago.

I keep hearing all the stuff about Cambridge and API and such and I'm just like, if you don't want personal information to be taken, why even post about it? I hope they find my anime, memes, and harry potter obsession useful!

I’m very careful with what I put there myself. People do mistakes of talking too much about their personal lives.

You have an excellent point. We have been given technology to help make our lives easier. The trouble is that it is being misused or make it the center of our existence.
