Mukesh Patel a builder from Gujarat State from India donated 5 kg of Gold to the Goddess Ambaji Temple , situated in Palanpur, Gujarat yesterday.
He committed to donate 25 kg of Gold to the temple in 2011, to help in the process of completing the gold plating of entire temple to achieve success in life.
Having already donated 20 kg of the Gold in the past he yesterday has donated his last instalment of Gold to the temple.
If you have that much of Gold would you donate it to any temple?
If you ask me the same, then I would have donated that amount to some NGO or Trust in helping the needy children and Women instead!
What do you say? What you would have done had you been in his place?
Please respond your responses will be highly appreciated!

If l have that much of gold I will surely help, especially those who are in need. I can't take anything when I die so I am willing to share whatever I have.

I appreciate your views and opinion...no body is going to take anything along with them when they die so why to accumulate and waste the resources when we can spare the same in helping the needy? Thanks dear friend @Jessabuma! God bless!

I guess, I have received that image in my whatsapp as well.
I support your views for sure. I don't know how people learnt that if they donate gold to God, they will be blessed? What a worst image they have in mind. What is the need of gold by God? I don't know. God does not require any gold or any gifts for sure. If you can serve a needy person that is the great worship for God.
Alas! that is the only word I can express here for the lack knowledge of millionaires.

That is very true...people want to bribe the God also ...they get into contract to donate something if their wishes are getting fulfilled...what a pathetic thing? I feel very bad for those people...who do all sorts of offenses and at the end they want to wash their sins by donating something to God!

@AKRao24 That is lack of knowledge indeed!
I will share you a real incident. One person and his family, according to my knowledge they are good people and doing good in their life too. Every year, there is a special pooja for Goddess in a particular temple which is situated almost in the border of Delhi. So all over the Delhi, people gather in this temple for offering this pooja (ponkala in our language, where people prepare porridge on the spot in an earthern pot and devote the same to Goddess). From our locality, this particular family carry the expenses of the travel for whole devotees (one bus or two buses, for one bus which costs almost three thousands rupees). They have been in this practice for many years and they are doing it as by their own wish. This year, I heard there is no travel facilities for devotees and devotees must go spending by their own. Out of curiosity I inquired the reason for absence of bus facility by that particular family. There I learnt the particular family is on great trouble financially, some thug occupied their house, they forcefully left to our native place there his wife unwell and in bed.
I was really shocked, of course, I have no close contacts with them so no idea about their life style or life. However, it made me to think, what is the reason for their bad plight? What you will say?

With sixty orphan children and many more starving and undernourished children in the villages I'd been grateful to receive such donation but sadly my experience tells me rich people don't support orphans like ours. Poor people and middle class people are the ones who set aside some money to help our children.

I fully agree with your views dear friend it is only the poor and middle class people who understand the humanity and the sufferings of the other people. For the rich these things play no importance at all. For them they want to spend the surplus money in such a way that they would get name and fame while doing so!
I am sincerely impressed with your great deed of taking care of sixty orphan children in your village! God bless you dear @franxav !

I agree with you dear friend @Shortail , rich people want to have name and fame so they do silly things like this , I appreciate your idea of feeding less fortunate people specially the kids who are the future citizens! Thanks a lot! P.S: If you throw that much of gold on the head then he is certain to die...

@AKRao24 Mukesh Ambani is one of the richest persons of the world.25 kgs of gold is nothing more than peanuts for him.In fact,he has donated only a tiny fraction of what he is capable of.I don't have money. If I donate only a one rupee coin to the goddess,She would be pleased. But She would bless me if I give that one rupee coin to someone who is dying of hunger and has nothing to eat.

Dear friend @Shivram59 , it is not Mukesh Ambani I am talking about , it is Mukesh Patel a builder from a small village in Gujarat. May it be Ambani or Patel...I think there are better ways of utilizing the 25 kgs of Gold to serve the humanity than donating it to temple for beautification! Thanks!

It is easy to say yes or no. But fact is that people trust super natural powers , God , saints than humans for their many personal and emotional things. If they had good experience with these powers the bond is strong. In Gujarat there are more rich people in business sector.
I think its a matter of personal thing, to submit dedications whether it is rich or not rich.

But then common sense says that ...there are many more areas which requires attention on more priority than beautifying a temple dear friend @shshiju ! I never indulged in thes things and today I may not be a filthy rich to loose my sleep but I ma definitely contended with the life what I have! Thanks!

@shshiju , I agree it is one's very personal choice...I am just seeking the opinion of others here! I know just by my say 'No' won't stop these people! The people who have faith are going to donate so long they can! I hope you understood me! Thanks dear friend!

@AKRao24 I can understand your feelings. But I don't think that the rich man is willing to help the poor with the Gold he determine to dedicate to God. May be he is ready to help with other money.
I am not against to help the poor. But dedication to God is quite personal thing.

I would give some amount to Gurdwaras as they use the amount for langars and other relief efforts. The rest to some charity that I trust. I don't trust temples with the money.
