Do you use MSG to cook?

MSG

I seldom use MSG to cook because I think my dishes are delicious enough and no need to add something like MSG. Last night I found the deep fried shrimp shells are delicious. And today I also find another good way to use it as in the past we just threw away shrimp shells but actually they are quite useful. You can use the oven or microwave oven to cook and make the shrimp shells dry. After that, use a mixer and make them shrimp shells into shrimp powder. Actually this kind of powder can replace MSG and I also think it will make the dishes yummy. Especially it is natural.

From what I read, MSG only affects a small portion of the population that is sensitive to it but I think your method to bring out that " umami" taste is better

@youless oh yes, I'm not so sure if it has benefits, I think your shrimp shell has calcium.

The shrimp shells seem to be a good substitute for MSG.It is said that MSG is first made from kelp.

@changjiangzhibin89 In fact I am quite surprised to hear that MSG even banned in some countries.

This is what I heard. However, if the MSG is made from kelp, why so many people say it is not healthy? I don't get it.

@youless I have read that MSG doesn't do that much harm to our health as some said. However people who have cardio-cerebrovascular diseases have to eat less MSG due to it being high in sodium

MSG is not allowed to be used in restaurants in Australia because of the risk of allergic reactions. That's good advice about the shrimp shells.

I used MSG before , , it is used as flavor enhancer but it gives health disadvantages like headache and allergic reactions. , It worsens asthma , chest pain or palpitations and also it causes mild mood changes , that's why I stopped using it.
