I wish I could upload a video of Leonard playing, he's very invested in the antics of Thomas and Percy (of Tank Engine fame) and every 30 seconds or so he shouts "look out, Percy!" or "help!" (pronounced "harrup") but if I try to get involved I quickly realise I'm just in the way He's been out all afternoon and I've just got this hour with him before bedtime, I thought it would be nice for me to play his games with him but he's simply not interested He only wants me if he needs help getting one of his toys out of a tight spot, or if he deems it time for a snack

I wanted to share a picture of his new smile but he wouldn't do it for long enough for me to capture it - it's a sweet-looking but very obviously fake smile that he does for photos

@Courage7 He's obsessed with them My mam bought them for him to use at her house but he cries for them when he's with me so now they travel with him

Adorable photos. It just means he has a very active imagination and can enjoy playing by himself. I was an only child with a greatly developed imagination and I enjoyed playing on my own.

It's really helpful to me because it's just me and him, so it's great that he can play on his own while I do housework He's also inherited my love of books and sometimes I genuinely forget he's there because he spends so long looking at them! I'm so proud of him

@RasmaSandra I'm trying not to get my hopes up but he's already started to spell his name out loud and say some of the alphabet, it's so exciting!

@LilyBeBack that is wonderful. I was a little bookworm and really enjoyed picture books with a few words to try to read them.

Aw, he's getting so big! What a handsome little guy. Our girls adore Thomas and Percy, too. I used to have to watch out because they'd be running around wearing the biggest boxes they could find pretending to be one of the engines. Their focus is more on Miraculous these days, so we're doing a countdown until the new episodes are on Netflix this Friday.

That's so funny Leonard's main acting skill is pretending to be a cat, and he does involve me in that game because he makes me pretend to be a cat and then chase him

@yukimori Dragon is fine but I wouldn't be able to cope with the spider

@LilyBeBack I miss those days! My oldest used to pretend to be a cat all the time. Her little sister is weird... forget the cute, cuddly animals, she'd rather pretend to be a dragon or spider.

Fun times for sure. My daughter did not get a lot of TV and other things that would make her want to be what others did. She said Meow! to Santa and ran into a Sunday school room once telling all the big kids that she was an elevator. She rode a bus with my husband and decided that she was Bob the bus driver. Never a dull moment.

Busy is exactly how people describe him, even since before he was born During scans and also since he was born he's generally referred to as "busy", "a wriggler", and "active" - I think the last one was the most polite term the midwife could think of as she spent a very long time trying to weigh him

Now you have to work on having a little girl. Boys tend to like playing alone. Little girls (most anyway), tend to follow mom around and moms often end up having no peace with them .

I'll have to find a man who already has a daughter because it's the father's contribution that decides whether a baby is male or female and I don't want to keep having millions of children just in case one of them turns out to be a girl

@LilyBeBack Feed your man with vegan dishes only for a week, work him well until he is often too tired (with works around the house or playing with the baby) etc. There, he is ready to give you only daughters.

Maybe one day he'll invite you to play with him maybe he just wants to get used to playing that on his own for now.

When I took these pictures I was trying to get one of his smile but he wouldn't let me, he's developed a fake smile that's really funny but he only does it for a split second and he's too quick for me
