Do you still live in your country of birth?

Although I have moved to different locations within the UK I was born here and have never lived anywhere else. Some people travel around and decide to relocate to another country for various reasons maybe for work or for a warmer climate. Are you living in your country of birth or have you moved somewhere else. If so did you find it hard to adjust? Image from Pixabay

No, I do not live in the country where I was born. I left Italy in 1975 to move, with my husband, to Monte-Carlo. We lived there until 2006. We now are retired here in Switzerland.

I'm still living in my country of birth and same exact city I was born in. I've been to different places but couldn't imagine myself living somewhere else. Just a vacation maybe but never really thought of moving somewhere else.

My kind of person. We get so habituated to language, banks, bakeries, medical shops, sugar can juice centers, eateries, it is so difficult to move out.

@toniganzon Right now, if you could see how my city is, you would run away...they are building metro line, so more than half road is excavated. A lot of diversions. Buses are plying but few in number (anyway you can't climb buses here, they are so rotten and not easy to climb), and auto drivers say no to any distance that involves such traffic jams. They don't come even if you offer them more because they feel they lose more than half day in heat.

@vandana7 I love my country. I tried living in Bangkok but I wasn't happy there. I tried to live in a very busy city and I hated the traffic.

I was born in California in the United States. I would never want to leave the United States and have never lived anywhere else, though I've visited other countries. I love the land and climate and beauty of California, but the state government is making our state more like a third world country with its policies. I hope I won't have to leave the state of my birth in order to survive economically.

@BelleStarr It's not so different to American English is it? Unless you go to a part where they speak with a broad accent. Even I have trouble with a geordie accent (North East England). I live in South West England so he wouldn't have any trouble understanding me. Wisbech is about a 3 hour drive from where I am, 156 miles

Did you have a favourite place to live? I moved about different places in England but when I look back I think the town I lived in during my growing up years is my favourite. I moved there when I was 12 and left when I was 24 so grew from a child to an adult in those years and I would love to go back there although my commitments are where I am now so I need to stay.
