It might be a while before this type of space station gets built. Remembering Kubrick's 2001 A Space Odyssey, based on the novel by Arthur C. Clarke, that famous Pinwheel Earth orbiting space station in that movie is a lot like the one depicted in this discussion, seen in the title image I found from Pixabay. I really think many people who grew up watching that movie are rather disappointed that the US never put one that fantastic in space, but the cost would probably be astronomical. The audio book of this story is available via this YouTube link below. It is approx. 7 hours
2001: A Space Odyssey is a 1968 science fiction novel by British writer Arthur C. Clarke.

What I like is the theme song or music of 2001 Space Odyssey, " also sprach Zarathustra " by the German composser Strauss Tickets mighr be real expensive but worth it.

It's no good! Aerospace engineer, Howard Wolowitzs' mother ruined space.

He is only one dude. He can't ruin it for everyone. Someday this will be our future.

Maybe we are already way out in space and have lots of those space stations.

We have lots of orbiting satellites but not so many space stations. We have our very own International Space Station and that is a good start.

I saw the movie when my oldest son was a baby. It's an interesting space station.

It is based on real science. It creates gravity so you can walk around it like you were on solid ground on planet earth.
