The pain is so bad that I am in tears.

This is crazy. I had to go to CVS today to buy an ice pack for my husband. While I was searching for them I saw lidocaine pain-relieving patches on the shelf. I figured that I would buy a box and see if they could help with my shoulder pain since the ibuprofen wasn't doing anything. The answer to that experiment is a resounding NO. The patch has been on for over 2 hours and it has done absolutely nothing. I was just struggling to get the top off of a big can of pineapple juice and my husband could hear me sighing and getting upset from the other room. I just popped a few more Skittles, I mean ibuprofen, for $hits and giggles because they don't do anything either. I cannot imagine what the hell is wrong with my shoulder to be causing this kind of pain but it needs to end.

I had frozen shoulder which is very painful. I saw the doctor who arranged for an x ray which confirmed it. I could not put my arm behind me or reach up without pain and it would ache in the night.

I can move it around but the pain is excruciating and I have a very high tolerance for pain.

@NJChicaa I don't think that is frozen shoulder as mine was annoying but bearable. I tried those patches and didn't find them very helpful. Have you pulled a muscle?

I'm in considerable pain as well. I warn people with fibromyalgia who are 55 years old should not try and jump rope. What I wouldn't do for one of my great-nieces. Hope you find some relief soon. I find my shoulder hurts more when I am cold.

Hot, cold, it doesn't matter. Peeling 5 pounds of potatoes certainly didn't help the situation.

I hope that it is not a frozen shoulder. I had one for about a year until my doc injected cortisone and that fixed it overnight and the shot did not even hurt.
