Hello!
I'm kind of a bookworm. And it's really sad to know that many people especially the younger ones are not reading enough books anymore. I'm not talking about just the ones being used in school but books in general. I personally believe that books are great tools for getting information (although Google is king now), enhancing ones imagination, and a good supplier of brain food. So it'll really make a big difference if more people will read more books especially younger people (which includes me I think. Haha.)

I read every night for an hour or two before bed, that's the only chance I get so I make the most of it. It also means that there's no technology in my bedroom and that makes me sleep better
I don't read anywhere near as much as I did when I was little, but I'm a single parent now and I just don't have the time.

@cedie0808 It's great! Everyone I know has a TV in their bedroom and/or uses the Internet in bed but I refuse to allow myself either of those things because I can feel the benefits
When my son gets older I'd like to avoid it with him as well. If possible I'd like to work out a system where he gets time to himself to watch TV in the living room without me there, but once he's in his bedroom he's either asleep, reading, or playing with his toys

@LilyBeBack That'll be a good practice for your son. I'm confident that'll work for him as long as you'll be there to guide him.

All is good as long as you still read when you have the chance. And it's a good thing what you're doing there with no technology in your bedroom. I'll try that. :)

People cannot be forced to read. They can only be motivated into it.

@id_peace Yeah. We need more book reading campaign or something. Haha.
The last book convention that I went to have had a lot of young people there so maybe the future is really not that bad. :)

Books are great companions. People don't tell stories nowadays through speech like they once used to, so to know great stories, books are really necessary, be it in the paperback or electronic medium (personally I prefer paperback). I don't get a lot of time nowadays to engage in reading books voraciously as before, but still I try to read two books in a month. Also great magazines supplement them as short reads

Two books in a month is still great! People who really love books most often than not prefer paperback than eBooks. Nothing beats the feeling of holding the book in your hand reading it anfd flipping through it's pages.

Wow that's great! I was like that before when I was a bit younger because I've got plenty of time in my hands then. But now, because of work and other stuff that I need to do, my reading time is now limited.

Exactly. The younger generation needs it more. They can start with some fiction novels for them to get that great feeling of reading.

I certainly still read hard copy books. I am now on my second ereader and the only thing I have never used either device for is reading ebooks!

Thing about technology is that, there's a lot of advantages and disadvantages to it. Since some of the younger generation is using the net or technology on something that's not good for them, the effect is not that good. There are some important things being forgotten like books because of it.

I used to read a lot more than I do now. I am trying to read more books these days. I have already read seven books this year. Hoping to reach fifty books by the end of the year. Currently ready to start my eighth book. I don't read e-books though. I am forever a physical book person.

I'm lazy reading books not because I hate books but because I'm not used to read books when I was a kid. I didn't have many books when I was younger due to lack of money.
