Bad day on Market day

My sister and I went to the market to buy meat. We have a very tight budget for our food. I am a regular customer of this pork vendor. We hurriedly bought a kilo of meat since she was about to close her stall. When we got home, my sister washed the meat that we bought. She noticed it smelled bad. She called my attention and indeed it's smelly. We tried to cook a portion of it but when it was done, the smell was still there...
What do you think should we do? We want to return it and wait if she decides to give us a refund...

Learn from experience to check what you bought before you leave the store. The vendor may also have not known that the meat was no longer good. I would suggest you go to that vendor and tell them about it. Who knows? She might give you a discount or something if she knows you are a frequent customer ("suki"). If the vendor just shrugs it off, then don't buy from them again.

Thanks i will give it a try. We did not checked the meat because we are her "suki". Lesson learned!

Some people would really do things just to have a day’s profit even if it will affect the health of the consumer. Not nice. If you can return it, go. But I do not trust those people in the market giving you a refund.

@MrsPumpkins you may call me, Louise. Hehehe I think i do not deserve to be called maam as I am not in a higher position or status. Hihi
Yes, it is just so sad that vendor was your “suki” and then she did that to you. Better not buy from her at all.

We did not returned it maam. But we already told the vendor about it,but she just smiled. We weren't expecting that. Hehe we just walked out after that. And decided to never buy from that vendor again

You must let the vendor know that her meat was off .. It's not safe to eat a smelly meat ..

That doesn't sound good. My mother used to wipe over oldish meat with vinegar. I guess it depends how bad the smell is.

Since you are a regular customer much better to return it and be careful next time. Much better if you smell and check the pork next time before buying it.

Holy shXX.
Based on experience in cooking, if a piece of meat smell bad, it is bad. No doubt about it.
