Yes, my mom has improved, they measured her arm and it is a 1/4 of an inch bigger so she is losing her hospice care. She is 102.5 and in a nursing home. The extra care from hospice has been wonderful for her, she is so much happier when she gets the Reiki massage. The way the system works she must be evaluated every 90 days. So the help they gave her helped so they are taking it away. Tell me what kind of sense that makes? When I get back, I will give it a couple weeks and see how she is doing and then I will call Hospice to reevaluate her. I hope that they will find that she has started to fail again. It is pretty sad when you have to hope someone starts to fail so they can get the help they need!!

Your mom looks awesome! I agree, that it's sad that they are taking away something that has been helping so much!! Just look at her expression! That should tell the hospice that she is getting exactly what she needs!!

That does sound like a terrible tease doesn't it? Give them some help that they need and then yank it away, just to test their spirit and body. She looks wonderful in this picture, I just love how the hues of blue in her dress bring out the same in her sparkling eyes. She's so lucky that she has you to defend and protect her-good luck!

@Juliaacv no the aids put those on her she doesn’t dress herself and she has almost no hair on top of her head . She used to wear a wig when she was more aware

@BelleStarr Oh it is the perfect colour for her. It really brings out the beauty of her eyes, and that head-wrap is a nice touch. Does anyone refer to her as Scarlet when she dons that?

God bless your mom. She looks wonderful!! No, it doesn't make sense that they are stopping her care when it's helping.

No it doesn’t but with hospice you have to be failing and if she is improving she is not failing, it is a lose lose situation

Your mother is looking quite happy in the picture. She's had a good long life. I'm glad she's doing better, but I do understand how you would like her to keep getting the help she needs.

There are many things that are sad about how our elderly and ill are treated. I am glad for the positive effect that having extra care has had on this charming older lady, your mom. She looks great.

I wish my mom had gotten that kind of care but her guardian didn't see fit to do that for her.

@rebelann These days someone has to advocate for the elderly if you want them getting all the things that are available to them.

Your mom looks happy in the picture. Mine is 90 now and almost bedridden. I hope I will be fortunate to leave when the health starts to deteriorate and I lose my independence - siva

Your mom is such a cutie in the picture. Very beautiful. If someone is well, why would they take away the hospice care when she should be monitored because of her age?

@BelleStarr I find that absurd. They are at the age where health can fail them anytime.

It does make a person wonder what some of these health care facilities do the things they do. If she needs special care then they should of just left her where she was.

It is paid for by SSI thus the constant checking to make sure she still needs it. I will see if I can get her back into it as soon as possible.
