Mommy's in the Garden

Mommy's in the garden, she won't hurry to come in,
so I've taken out my drum kit, I'm making quite a din.
Oh dear, the baby's woken so I lift him from his cot,
then I find him jam and cream - he likes that quite a lot,
he's got it in his hair and eyes and now he's being sick,
perhaps my mom won't notice if I put him back real quick..
Photo taken in my garden last year.

It is not easy to say this all in a poem. Poor Mum.

When I was little I tipped my sister out of her pram. It was one of those big bucket prams and she was strapped in with reins. I tipped the pram forward and left her dangling from the reins. My mum was very fond of telling people that story!![](/Content/images/emotes/lol.gif)

I was thinking of your beautiful garden the other day because spring refuses to come and winter is still hanging around. I needed something pretty to make me smile and your garden came to mind. ![](/Content/images/emotes/hugs.gif)

@VivaLaDani13 It was probably a mixture of both fixing and hiding![](/Content/images/emotes/rofl.gif)

@jaboUK haha I know. Poor little baby. I just mean that the child was trying to fix the situation. Or maybe hide it lol I guess there is a difference between fixing it and hiding it. ![](/Content/images/emotes/rofl.gif)

That's a bit funny. How old is the older child? That part is scarier than getting goo in the baby's hair.
I can't imagine a mom leaving two children alone in the house for any reason.

It's only a poem Marsha
, but I've got the older child at about 10 - big enough to lift the baby out of the cot. Have you never gone out into your garden or onto the porch or chatted to a neighbour while your children were inside the house? I know I have.

@jaboUK My kids are three years apart and when the younger one was still a baby the older one took her out of the playpen and began running with her to where I was getting ready for work in the bedroom. THe baby slipped out of her hands and skidded across the carpet. She wasn't hurt, but was afraid of things until she got older.
I was only home for six weeks with each child and I really don't remember having time to visit much back then. Plus we rented and I didn't buy as many flowers as I do now.
I will go outside when I have things cooking on the stove and forget about it. I've done that to water my new flowers and then stayed outside to begin weeding. Nowadays I remember to set an alarm so I don't forget, or at least turn the burner down very low or completely off before heading outside.
