Home and Living with Vegans and Vegetarians

We are back home in Connecticut!
We had a quick and hassle free flight.
It is freezing here (to me).
It is wonderful seeing the kids and kitties!!!
There is one problem, though. There is no room in our refrigerator or cabinets, anymore, because they are all stuffed with vegan and vegetarian everything!!! I am making use of the vegetable bin in our refrigerator for butter, meat, salad, and vegetables, and found just enough space for half and half and my bottle of wine.
My husband and I ate out our first night home. The kids had their own dinner planned. They ate out the following night with friends. We all ate out together Friday night to celebrate their 6 month wedding anniversary. Last night we ordered pizza, but my daughter-in-law made vegan soup for herself.
Tonight, my husband and I will grill steak. The kids have plans.
It will work out, and it's great to be home.

Every day I am getting more and more back to vegan, seems all the other foods, meats and daily are making me feel blah.
I am glad you are home and safe, just to let you know we had a freeze warning last night so the cold crept back down here too.

I am glad you arrived safely home. I hope your vegan daughter in laws does not hate those who are not vegan or vegetarian. A woman had to call the police yesterday in Italy, her (vegan) daughter menaced to kill her because she was cooking a Bolognese sauce.

@DianneN When you come from a warm place then April can still be cold. We kind of get used to the cold and so just the fact that it is not snowing every day makes us happy.

Is that your house in the picture? Looks massive!!
So it seems you have issues with your diet. How will you adjust?

@DianneN I like your sit out as we call it. I had designed a house for a friend of mine and had their sit out on top of their garage.

@allknowing We call it a deck and thanks. I am impressed with your design savvy. I suppose the location would depend on the space available and the type of home.

My son was a vegetarian for about a year. We enjoyed some of the meals.

That's really sweet you all celebrated their 6 month anniversary together. I wonder what they will plan for their year anniversary. I hope a little getaway somewhere warm! It is still cold here so I imagine after being down south you are freezing!

I don't think I could totally be a vegan or vegetarian. I like meat

I remember the view of your house from the back yard, and it's a gorgeous yard and house. I don't remember that your kids were living in your house. I hope you can find room for foods that you eat once you're home for a bit. Did you consider, at all, waiting a few more weeks until the weather gets better before returning home? Although I'm from Michigan, and I've lived in your state too for a year, I still don't like this colder weather. You're not alone there even though you can get away for the harsher part of the winter months.

It's not that huge, but we're happy with it and the 2.2 acres it sits on. Oh, my, gosh! I don't know much about what she eats, except that I saw lots of fresh vegetables, mushrooms, one billion spices, and kale chips! She won't eat dairy at all, not even butter or eggs.

Yes we vegans tend to spread out a little too much. Watch out, you may be converted yet.

It's good to hear that you came back home. You remind me of my trip to Kolli hills. It's one of the biggest mountains in south India. And I came back to home after 6 weeks of trekking. The returning feels like heaven

@mlgen1037 I'm dying to visit the Philippines and meet you and your countrymen! My son and his bride want to go scuba diving there, too.
They have to wait until the end of May before trying for a baby, because part of their honeymoon was spent in the forests of Bali and they are concerned about the Zika virus. They were covered with mosquito bites and must wait. Females have to wait 3 months and males 6 months. Better safe than sorry, Louise.

@DianneN yey! Thank you, Dianne. I hope I can get the chance to meet you and your wonderful family.
Your son and daughter in law has no plans of having a baby yet?
