When accidents happen, either they happen unexpectedly or because people are not careful enough

At the school's recognition program today, I was about to take a seat where it is nearer the stage but a teacher asked me to move backward. I wanted to ignore her but I obeyed and moved backward. Two hours later? A poor lad got hit with a heavy steel bar that fell exactly on the chair that I evacuated.
If I didn't move, it should have been me. I felt sorry for that lad who I think was taken to the hospital because his head was bleeding badly. Accidents happen, but they shouldn't happen if people are careful enough to have safely secured that steel bar in the first place. I thank God for His protection over me and I pray that the young lad did not have serious injury and is now okay.

Good riddance, my friend. I hope the young boy is okay too.

@mlgen1037 No further news yet as of now. All they've said was the victim was given the treatment he needed.

It shouldn't happen if the people who put that steel bar to hold a covering or shade should have secured it properly so as not to cause accidents like that. I agree, though, that there are things that are meant to happen, happen.

I'm sorry for that boy but it was in his destiny to become a victim. If it was not so then why that teacher asked you to move backward.

Yeah, I feel really sorry for that boy but relieved that I was spared from that accident.

If something happens I always have two thoughts: 'This is meant to happen' and 'Should the variable (person) have been more careful it wouldn't have happened'.
