The movie Eragon . . .

I haven't seen the trailer. Only the posters of at the bookstore. That's how I found out that it was going to be made into a movie.

I saw the trailers for Eragon and was very interested in seeing the movie because I love fantasy stories and am fasciated by mythical creatures such as dragons. My family had some free movie tickets and I went to see it last week. A lot of acquaintances of mine didn't like the movie that much.. I'm not sure why. I thought that it was okay - the Harry Potter movies are far better, but this wasn't the worst movie that I've ever seen.

I haven't seen the trailer yet. I'm hoping that it's not a disappointment. It just can't be, the book was good to me. I'll just have to wait and see.

I normally read massively...fiction, nonfiction...heck I read medical texts. LOL! I learned long ago that nothing Hollywood can put up on that screen can't come close to what an author's words and my own imagination can put together. So I am always disappointed in the movie... To solve this problem, I simply would not read a book if it had any indication that a screen play was in the works. Sadly all too often the book comes out years before they even think about a screen play...but I don't intend to give up reading just to be able to enjoy a movie. What the hey, I'll probably end up watching it once it comes out on DVD. I hate theaters.

Well, I knew they were definetly going to change some things. Did they also leave out a lot?

Hmmm. . . what a different opinion. I know that parts of the movie will be hollywoodified but it would be nice if for once, they didn't change anything from the book. Leaving out parts, fine, but adding things that didn't happen. No thanks!

I didn't see the movie because people were saying it wasn't good. But I think I will rent it when it comes out.

How was the second book for you? I haven't finished it. And no I don't know what the 3rd book will be called.

I don't think I could wait that long. But maybe they will release it earlier than some movies, but still, I couldn't wait.

No I have not. I'm trying to get through eldest. I kind of want to reread eragon for the movie. I read it so long ago.

It's really disappointing to hear that they didn't follow the story too much. I'm not going to support the movie, so I'm not watching it.

And I like your opinion. I agree that they left out a lot of details that were far more important than budget! I just saw the movie yesterday. I liked it but I was frustrated about changes and things that were left out.
