Making mistakes while tagging Discussion

Well we have the tag options when ever we post a discussion, Respond or comment but some of us or at least those who i have seen make mistakes with that. I myself make mistakes and still trying to learn but i like to share that mylot is different from Facebook. Some thought, if they tag there friend in Discussion by posting there name like on Facebook they get notification for that but nothing like that happen on Mylot, so best not to tag like that and ignore tags if you don't find any related ones. What are your views about it? Do you like to add tags to your posts? Have you seen some making mistakes with that? Please Share.
