Yesterday my son and I went to the library together. Then I learned what kind of books he read lately. I am very pleased to see that he is still so interested in science. The books he borrowed concerning about chemistry and physics. Currently he isn't studying chemistry in school yet because it will be grade 9 student's subject. He is good at physics so far. In fact I feel happy that he is interested in these books rather than novels.

Dont have kids yet but I would definitely want to make sure my child/ren to read books that would make him think and challenge his mind.

I don't know what's wrong with reading novels every now and then?

As it is different than other children. Reading novels is fine, but it is more likely for entertainment rather than learn something from it.

@MALUSE No, but it seems it is better for students to learn more something useful when they study.

Your son really likes Science. I wonder if he will take Physics or Chemistry in university. Since my kids are at home with me all day long, and I usually choose the books for them, so yes, I know what books they are reading.

That's really cool. When I was a kid my parents were always curious about what I was reading.
